I have worked in the building industry for over 35 years. From 1979 to 1988 I worked as part of a team restoring historical buildings such as The Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst.
In 1989 I teamed up with my father to form Groves & Partners. Together we successfully purchased 10 properties which we renovated to a high standard and resold.
During 1990 – 1991 the housing market changed dramatically. My father retired from Groves & Partners, so I decided to take the company into another direction. I was back contracting at the Military Grounds of Staff College in Camberley, but this time as a main contractor direct to the P.S.A/D.O.E. When this disbanded circa 1993, I carried on contracting to BPFM until 1995 when my contract ended.
From 1995 to present day, I have continued as a local builder working on a variety of projects, from extensions to patios. I advertise locally but most of the work I get is from happy customers recommending me. I work closely with many architects who approve and recommend me to their clients. Two of the architects I work for recommend me as a listed contractor for extensions, Alistair Lloyd – Aabracad being one.
I have also attended a Weber course for Monocouche Render, and am now an approved, certified attendee.
